Being a Trustee board member is both rewarding and challenging. Our Trustees play a key role in making sure that Up2Us stays true to its mission and values by serving the interests of our young people and families to achieve better life chances, better life experiences and better wellbeing.
As a member of the Up2Us Board, you will:
- Be responsible for the strategic, tactical and operational direction of Up2us
- Uphold our values and principles
- Receive reports from the Chief Executive and other staff on Up2Us operations and finances, to inform decision making and make sure that all statutory and legal requirements for Up2Us are met.
Commitment
We hold our Board meetings over zoom on the last Tuesday of each month from 4pm until 5.30pm. The papers are sent out one week in advance of the meeting and we ask board members to read the papers and help us to make decisions that will steer the organisation towards a sustainable future, ensuring that young people are at the centre of everything we do. Any other tasks that you would undertake would be based around your experience and specialism. We also have at least one Board Development Day per year.
We want a diverse Board of Trustees with a depth and breadth of insight, experience and perspective. We welcome and value people of diverse backgrounds, thinking and skills and we would love to hear from people with skills in:
- Children and young people’s care and support services
- Finance/Fundraising
- Human Resources
- Communications/ Digital Technologies
